How do we break new ground in medical education? We start by digging deep–with deep relationships, experience, and needs assessments.

      Dig deep with us in…

    • Infectious Diseases

      WHAT WE’VE DONE RECENTLY:
We’ve been busy in ID! We have launched a new educational initiative in response to COVID-19 to educate clinicians and patients about COVID-19–associated invasive fungal infections (CA-IFIs). This initiative, funded by a cooperative agreement with the CDC to the University of Alabama at Birmingham in collaboration with the Mycoses Study Group Education and Research Consortium (MSGERC), uses educational interventions to enable health care providers to better care for patients with CA-IFIs.

We also have 2 new activities on Transformative Care for Invasive Mold Infections, which illustrate best practices and interdisciplinary management of IFIs in the critical care setting.

Visit COVIDANDFUNGUS.org and FungusCME.org to learn more.

    • Melanoma

      WHAT WE’VE DONE RECENTLY:
MNI continues to grow, with updated content on decision-making for Stage III melanoma, both in the US and internationally. We also have a Stage IV decision support tool in development.

We have also partnered with Farmworker Justice and AIM at Melanoma to address social determinants of health specific to migrant and seasonal farmworkers as a means to facilitate the timely diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.

    • IMMUNO ONCOLOGY

      WHAT WE’VE DONE RECENTLY:
Our IO Essentials materials have reached over 20,000 individuals worldwide. Recently expanded with a Stage III decision-support tool and international content translated for 8 regions, we continue to grow this important resource.

Additionally, IO essentials has released a series of videos for optimizing care during the COVID-19 pandemic and will be releasing international videos on the COVID-19 vaccines in the near future.

    • Multiple Sclerosis

      WHAT WE’VE DONE RECENTLY:
Our newest installment from the MS Educational Alliance features a collaboration with the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers. This multimedia, interdisciplinary activity features an updated view of MS pathophysiology to inform the concept of immune-reconstitution therapy.

    • Skin Cancer

      WHAT WE’VE DONE RECENTLY:
We’ve recently updated our Skin Cancer Education & Research Consortium website to include a webinar series highlighting frequently asked questions in nonmelanoma skin cancer.

Furthermore, our collaboration with Farmworker Justice continues to work toward improved health care navigation services for farmworkers in treating and diagnosing skin cancer.

    • Healthcare Disparities

      WHAT WE’VE DONE RECENTLY:
We recognize that there are significant disparities in accessing and receiving healthcare, and we aim to address these disparities through dedicated research and education. Our recent project, ReUnidos: Farmworker Connections to Skin Cancer Care, in collaboration with AIM at Melanoma Foundation and Farmworker Justice, recognizes the disproportionate challenges and risks that farmworkers experience as a result of their working conditions, and aims to reduce these barriers to healthcare treatment for skin cancer.

Additionally, we will be featuring strategies to alleviate healthcare disparities related to COVID-19 associated invasive fungal infections on our new COVIDANDFUNGUS website soon.
